Description: Moving classes and programs have proved to be challenging during the Covid-19 Pandemic. During this time, Miami Dade College librarians assisted faculty and academic departments with transferring programs and exhibits online. Springshare Libguide platform was used to host some of these programs. During the Fall 2020 semester, we transitioned the Global Sustainability and Earth Literacy Studies (GSELS) Learning Network Student Projects Showcase from an in-person format, on-campus event to an online platform. This event organized and hosted by MDC’s Earth Ethics Institute each fall and spring semester. During this event, students in GSELS-designated classes present and share with the Kendall Campus community their research projects, artwork, designs and models, and performance pieces, focused on an array of sustainability and Earth Literacy-related topics.
In addition, for the first time in the history of the Kendall campus Art Department, the student exhibition was entirely online for the safety of students, faculty, and staff due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Artworks were selected by faculty in the disciplines of Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, Ceramics, Graphic Design and Photography.
A reaction and commenting platform, Hyvor, was purchased to add a widget to enable viewers to react and leave comments.
For the purpose of the conference, a video showcasing the two libguides will be shared with the conference attendees in lieu of a poster.
